Former special ops agent, the eccentric MacGruber, was long thought to be dead, following the murder of his wife Casey Janine Fitzpatrick during their wedding ceremony ten years ago. MacGruber did not believe in the use of guns, but rather self-made tools and weapons on the spur of the moment with whatever materials were on hand, and did not believe in working off of plans. However, MacGruber is still very much alive and has dropped out of western society to recover emotionally from Casey's murder, recover which he knows he will never be able to do. Colonel Jim Faith is able to locate MacGruber and coerce him out of retirement as MacGruber's arch enemy, Dieter von Cunth, who is thought to be Casey's murderer, has stolen a nuclear warhead, his intended use of it unknown. The one saving grace at this point is that Cunth does not have the codes to launch it. MacGruber's task is to prevent Cunth from using the warhead, either by eliminating him, recovering the warhead, and/or preventing Cunth from getting the codes. Rather than use his dream team of former associates for this mission, he is relegated to a team of three: himself, his former associate Vicki St. Elmo who he has to convince to return to work rather than focus on her stumbling music career, and Lt. Dixon Piper, more typical of the traditional special op member, he who is Faith's choice but who MacGruber hates. Beyond actions by Cunth to carry out his intended use of the warhead, MacGruber and his team face the obstacles of the differences between MacGruber and Piper, the former who is constantly putting his team at risk in his "my way or the high way" attitude. Through it all, MacGruber has to decide if he can love again as his reunion with Vicki brings to the surface their mutual attraction, that love which has always existed on Vicki's side despite being Casey's best friend. In the Dzhugdzhur Mountains, Eastern Siberia, the criminal Dieter Von Cunth steals a Russian X5 nuclear warhead. Colonel James Faith travels to Rio Bamba, Ecuador, with the efficient Lieutenant Dixon Piper to summon the retired special operative MacGruber to retrieve the X5. MacGruber is considered deceased after the death of his beloved wife Casey by his archenemy Cunth in their wedding. MacGruber teams up with Piper and Vicki St. Elmo and they learn that the evil Cunth intends to use the warhead to destroy Washington D.C. I love intelligent cinema. I have fond memories of sitting at my TV watching the films of Ingmar Bergman, Harmony Korine, and Stanley Kubrick. But, I am not a stuck up prick. So, when I went to see MacGruber with my best bud, I laughed so hard I actually thought I would pass out. My lungs were very sore by the end of this movie and my face was streaming with tears of laughter. I walked home laughing. I went to sleep still laughing. I watched it again on HBO and still laughed. No, this is not supposed to be intelligent, the entire thing is comprised almost entirely of blue humor. But it's absolute onslaught of vulgar obscenities will cause anyone with a good sense of humor to laugh their ass off. Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillipe and Val Kilmer are hysterical, each contributing their own unique styles of humor to the film. Forte uses his screamy, obscene style, Wiig uses her awkward style, and Kilmer is just as funny as we knew him from Top Secret!, and Phillipes "serious guy" thing ties the whole thing together in one beautiful package of funny. There's a reason that movies based on Saturday Night Live sketches are looked at as the bottom of the barrel, and therefore a reason why "The Ladies Man" starring Tim Meadows back in 2000 was the last attempt. With the show regaining a bit of momentum, Universal gave it another go with "MacGruber." For the most part, it's another swing and a miss.

The film is based on the character portrayed by Will Forte – a dumb MacGyver, basically. Interesting, considering "MacGyver" is a TV show most of the film's target demographic has only heard of in reference and not actually seen. (I always remembered it as the show Patty and Selma loved on "The Simpsons.") MacGruber's one rule is "no guns," but that's not the centerpiece of the film's concept; MacGruber is simply a mullet-bearing government operative who's dumb and unorthodox in every way.

"MacGruber" pins its laughs on lewd jokes and bizarre partial male nudity. At one point, MacGruber creates a "distraction" with some celery. So despite the opportunity for action hero satire, "MacGruber" writers Forte, John Solomon and Jorma Taccone (also the director) decide ridiculous and raunchy will be their biggest laughs. The cleverness is limited to character names (Val Kilmer plays Dieter Von Cunth) and Kristen Wiig writhing on the floor of a coffee shop at the sound of gunfire in her earpiece.

Wiig and co-star Ryan Phillippe (Lt. Dixon Piper) are mostly there to counter the obnoxious, repetitive and blunt behavior of Forte's MacGruber. He finds moments of humor, but he simply operates on just a few different levels: dumb, trash-talking and overly emotional. I guess he found some success on SNL with the character, but there's not much longevity to these shenanigans.

At least "MacGruber" doesn't attempt, try or pretend to be something more than the mindless adult entertainment it offers. Hundreds of films have done it better and hundreds will do it worse. The only problem with mindless comedy is that no one remembers the middle guy.

~Steven C

Visit my site at http://moviemusereviews.com Kilmer makes a worthy, if somewhat underscripted villain. And some of the bits – MacGruber idiotically setting traps that the bad guys never fall for – tickle. But this still feels instantly dated, a "Hot Rod in a Role Models" era. MacGruber is based on a Saturday Night Live skit of the same name. The skit itself was a parody of the TV series MacGyver (1985) (1985-1992). The screenplay for MacGruber was written by the Saturday Night Live screenwriting team of Will Forte and John Solomon along with American filmmaker Jorma Taccone, who also directed the movie. "Touch and Go" by Emerson, Lake, and Powell is the song that plays during the montage as he checks off the names on his list. This comedy was released rated R in theaters worldwide. In the US, the DVD and Blu-ray disc releases contain this version alongside a longer unrated cut which adds more story and dialogue as well as more spicy material. a5c7b9f00b Download the Tinytown full movie tamil dubbed in torrentmalayalam movie download Freedom Fighters: The Raytamil movie dubbed in hindi free download American FrenzyEpisode 3.9 tamil dubbed movie free downloaddownload full movie Episode 1.61 in hindiThe Last of Us: Part III tamil pdf downloadDownload the Megamind full movie tamil dubbed in torrentThe Warriors full movie hd downloadthe CAIN: Director's Cut full movie in hindi free downloadHeadin' for Mexico in hindi download
